Palm Beach’s popular holiday rental and photo shoot location, La Palma, that earns its owners $400,000 a year is for sale.
While other holiday-home owners are dealing with land tax, La Palma, on the northern tip of Palm Beach, is bringing in the dosh from lettings and photo shoots. Between March 2023 and February this year La Palma raked in more than $316,000 in holiday lettings and more than $100,000 in photo shoot revenue.

Brands such as Moss & Spy, Sheridan, Cotton On and the Australian Women’s Weekly have filmed and photographed their models and products at the award-winning property with its views across Pittwater. The Barrenjoey Rd home now being marketed itself with an expressions of interest campaign closing October 30 and a $13.5m guide.
B.J. Edwards, of LJ Hooker Palm Beach, said the house sleeps ten with three King bedrooms having their own bathrooms.
There are five bathrooms in all, a heated swimming pool, a northwest aspect and all within a five-minute stroll to both Pittwater and the ocean surf.

“Some people are looking at land tax and rethinking their rental homes,” he said.
‘But La Palma brings in a good income and I have had a number of buyers call who have stayed at the property over the years,” he said.
The Barrenjoey Rd residence last traded in 2020 for $9.175m when founder of the executive search firm Johnson Partners, Jason Johnson and his psychotherapist wife Portia Thomson bought it from Emlen Bell, daughter of the late US Senator Joseph Tydings. The high-profile couple still live in the area having bought in nearby Avalon Beach last year.

Since then landscape gardener Will Dangar has been brought into La Palma to create lush landscape exteriors and 2023 Australian Designer of the year, Yasmine Ghoneim of YSG Studio was engaged to lead the interior redesign.
